MS Dhoni launched his maiden outlet of fitness and sportswear under the brand name ‘Seven’ in his home town Ranchi on Thursday amid a gathering of thousands of people.
“This is a very important day for me as the chain of stores takes off from my home town,” MS Dhoni said after inaugurating the store on the ground floor of Ranchi’s newly built Nucleus Mall in the heart of the Jharkhand capital.
The mall was packed with people, mostly youths desperate to have a glimpse of MS Dhoni, as this was his first appearance at a public place in Ranchi in the last 10 years.
The former India captain addressed the gathering and said, “I am very happy to meet you in Ranchi after 10 years. Give your 100 percent in whatever you do, whether you study or play.”
About his business enterprise, MS Dhoni said that the company will manufacture and market running, training, indoor, and athletic leisure wear apparel and footwear.
Launched in 2016, the brand has a presence in 309 multi-store outlets across the country and is also available on different e-commerce platforms. The brand plans to open 275 stores by 2020 with 20-25 openings this year.
“Fitness is crucial not only for sports activities but also for a healthy life. I have always focused on various sports like football and badminton to maintain a better form on the field. Seven’s products are designed with perfection for fitness regimes,” said MS Dhoni, who is the brand’s global ambassador.
