12 arrested for cheating in rlys recruitment paper
Six persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in an organised cheating racket during the Railway Recruitment Board's Gorakhpur National Level Examinations for the recruitment of constables in the Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Delhi, the crime branch said on Monday.

The six accused have been identified as Rahul Mavi, 20, Tapish, 24, Sunny, 22, Robin Kumar Nain, 24, Sohanpal, 22 and Tapender, 26. They were nabbed with answer keys they had received through text messages on their mobile phones while sitting for the exam at a public school in northwest Delhi's Rohini on June 30, said Ravindra Yadav, additional CP (crime).
"ACP KPS Malhotra received a tip-off that organised cheating was being planned during the RPF exam. The one-and-half-hour exam was to begin at 11am. Accordingly, a raid was planned and the accused were arrested," said additional CP Yadav.
During interrogation, the police claimed, the said candidates revealed that a few people had contacted them with a promise of providing them answer keys of the question paper. The said exam, the police said, had already been conducted for two batches on June 16 and 23.
"The arrested candidates have claimed that they were assured of being provided answer keys of all four sets of question papers before the commencement of the examination through SMS," additional CP Yadav said.
"For this, they were charged R3 lakh. Some candidates have disclosed that they paid R3.5 lakh and even more. The magnitude of the scam is likely to be in crores and many more arrests - especially of the persons associated with, or acting as, the source of the scam - will be made over the coming days," Yadav added.
The police arrested six more people in the scam from northwest Delhi late on Monday.
