2 held for stealing lakhs from trader

A l27-year-old employee, who wanted to start his own business, was arrested along with an accomplice for allegedly stealing lakhs from a businessman in central Delhi, poice said on Sunday.

Vijay Kumar, the accused, had been working as a cash deliveryman for his victim for at least a decade. His arrested associate has been identified as Jasbir Singh, 27. The stolen R11 lakh were also recovered from their possession, said Devesh Chandra Shrivastava, additional CP (central).

"On January 19, Arsh Kumar, who runs a mobile phone accessories business at Karol Bagh, approached us with a complaint that Vijay, who had been deputed for the collection and delivery of payments to his clients, was missing," said Shrivastava.

A police team finally nabbed Vijay from a bus stop in Aligarh and Rs. 5 lakh were recovered from him.
