Two persons were killed, while four others were injured in three separate accidents in the city.

In the first accident, a 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed after the rear wheel of his two-wheeler punctured and he crashed into a tree planted on the central verge of the road, near Akshardham flyover in east Delhi.

The accident took place at around 9pm on Sunday. The victim, identified as Chandan Kumar, was coming from Noida when the incident occurred. Eyewitness alleged that there was delay by the police in rushing the victim to the hospital that resulted in his death. Senior officers, however, refuted the allegations.

Kumar owned a furniture business in Noida and lived in Shakarpur with his family. "He was on his way back home when the rear wheel of his motorcycle was punctured. He lost control over the vehicle and it hit a tree on the divider. He sustained severe head injuries. He was rushed to LBS hospital where doctors declared him brought dead," a senior police officer said.

In the second accident, four persons suffered serious injuries after the car they were traveling in rammed into a stationary truck in north's Delhi Gulabi Bagh on Sunday night. According to the police, the victims were returning to their homes in Rohini after attending a marriage function. "All of them were drunk," said the police.

The victims have been identified as Jitender, 35, Pankaj, 35, Sunil, 36, and Raj Kumar, 45. The condition of Jitender and Raj Kumar was stated to be critical, police said. A police officer said the errant car driver was inebriated and was driving the vehicle at a high speed.

The third accident took place in east Delhi's Ghazipur. A 25-year-old cab driver was killed after a speeding truck hit the Tata Indica car he was driving, on early Sunday morning. The victim, identified as Sujeet Kumar, a resident of Seemapuri, was coming from the Anand Vihar side when the accident occurred. Police have arrested the errant truck driver.
