Three recreations over the last three days at central Delhi’s Aurangzeb Road have yielded three different angles which investigators across the Delhi Police and Israel’s Mossad are exploring for insights into a near fatal attack on an Israeli embassy official near the Prime Minister’s residence on Monday.
While the first two recreations were carried out by investigators from the special cell of Delhi Police, the third one was conducted solely by a seven-member Mossad team on Friday morning."All three possible scenarios, which are being explored currently, imply that Talyehoshua Koren, the 42-year-old wife of an Israeli diplomat, was the prime target of the bike-borne attacker," said an investigating officer.
Footage obtained from the lone CCTV installed outside the Israeli embassy, police said, had revealed that the targeted vehicle was parked outside the embassy for a good half an hour before it was intercepted while on its way to the American School.
“There was no tampering with the vehicle throughout this duration. The footage also shows Manoj Sharma, the driver, checking the vehicle’s external periphery as per protocol before allowing Koren to board it,” the officer said.
