As many as 31 people were injured in three separate road accidents between Sunday night and early Monday morning, police said.
The first accident was reported from west Delhi's Mundka area, when a crowded Blueline bus collided with a Metro pillar and turned turtle at 6.45 am on Monday near the Mundka Metro station. "The bus was running on route number 926 and was en route the Tikri border from old Delhi railway station, when it collided with Metro pillar number 498.
As many as 26 people were injured and rushed to a near by hospital," said a police officer.
Police said the bus was carrying more than 35 people. "The errant driver has been arrested and a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him. No one died in the accident," he added.
In another accident, four persons were injured when a speeding truck rammed into a juice shop in central Delhi's Paharganj area during on early Monday.
"The incident occurred at 3.30 am at the Nehru Bazar Chowk near Panchkuian Road. A goods truck ran into a juice shop, where four people were sleeping.." According to police, the truck driver, identified as Manoj, was driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver has been arrested and a case has been registered against him, police said.
In a similar accident, an auto driver received major injuries, when a private water tanker rammed into his auto in central Delhi's Kamla market area on Sunday night. Police said the errant tanker driver fled from the spot after the incident.
