Dengue has already claimed lives of three children in the last two months.
Country's two top cyclists also have reportedly contracted the disease and are undergoing treatment at one of the hospitals in the city.
Like dengue, cases of influenza A H1N1 — commonly known as swine flu — have also witnessed an unusual rise this season. One more person died of the disease at New Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital on Tuesday. So far, 30 people have died of swine flu in the Capital.
Another 53 swab samples tested positive for H1N1 virus, taking the number of confirmed swine flu cases to 926 this year.
In the wake of impending Commonwealth Games (CWG), the civic and health ministry officials have stepped up their efforts to control dengue and swine flu outbreak in the city. "The good thing is though number of cases may be high, we have checked mortality rate," said N.K. Yadav, medical health officer, MCD.

travelling to Delhi for the Commonwealth Games (CWG). According to sources, the health ministry is planning to write to its missions abroad asking them to reassure tourists that it is safe to travel to Delhi
