With heavy iron doors and a guard detail of nine security personnel working in three shifts, it’s no an ordinary room.
For, the room in the Patiala House court complex houses the entire court records of the 2G spectrum case, running into more than 80,000 pages.
The CBI requested the security arrangements after a tip-off that underworld don Dawood Ibrahim might try to destroy the documents. CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra said this was done before the first chargesheet was filed on April 2.
HT first reported on March 23 that the CBI had information that the Dawood gang might target the 2G scam papers to scuttle the trial.
