A ‘Delhicious’ way to remember the city

Commonwealth Games tourists can now take home a unique souvenir of Delhi, which is sweet, smooth and bears all the famous landmarks of the city on it.
"Delhicious", a range of dark, rich chocolates, will make use tourists' sweet tooth to promote Brand Delhi. It has been launched as Delhi's own chocolate at the Tourist Info Cafes, part of the Delhi government's “Delhi Celebrates” campaign for the Games.
Manufactured in Bangalore, these homemade chocolates come in four flavours - dark, regular, orange and butterscotch. What is unique is that each cube is coated with an embossed image of one of the eight famous landmarks in Delhi.
"Delhi is the first city in India with a unique chocolate range in its branding portfolio for tourists. It will be a huge hit, we are certain,” said Ved Pohoja of VPA Associates, the company operating the Info Cafes recently inaugurated by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
While the cafes will start full-fledged operation from September 2, the makers have already ordered 30,000 packets of Delhicious from Bangalore.
In three packaging varieties, Delhiicious comes for a range between Rs 109 and Rs 299. A box of nine cubes, the smallest of the lot, has the eight monuments embossed on them. A single bar, called “Visiting card chocolate” has scenes that are quintessential Delhi embossed on them. The third package comes in a four-flavour pack.
As part of the Delhi government's drive to use the Games as an opportunity to for branding city's tourism, the Info Cafes have a range of Delhi-centric merchandise titled "Delhi Memories".
Just like Commonwealth Games' official merchandise, this product-line also contains cups, mugs, headgears, t-shirts etc, apart from chocolate. The 40 Info cafes spread around areas frequented by tourists, including Mehrauli and Central Delhi areas, also serve as a one-stop shop for all the required information, on the Capital's tourist attractions.
