A three-tier security system at Delhi HC
A week after a high-intensity blast outside gate No 5 claimed 13 lives and left around 80 injured, the Delhi High Court has been turned into a fortress with around 300 Delhi Police personnel engaged in securing the areas around it.
A week after a high-intensity blast outside gate No 5 claimed 13 lives and left around 80 injured, the Delhi High Court has been turned into a fortress with around 300 Delhi Police personnel engaged in securing the areas around it.
Very soon, a three-tier security arrangement will be put in place at the entry and exit gates of the high court. While the outermost security will be in the hands of the local police, the second and third layer will be manned by the high court security team and the CRPF. Prior to the blast, the security arrangement of the high court was the responsibility of the Delhi High Court security team and the Rajasthan police.
“Frisking of visitors at all the nine gates, except gate No 5, are being done both manually and with security gadgets,” said a senior police officer. Keeping in mind the security of the Delhi High court, the internal parking has already been shifted to the India Gate parking and Bhairon Marg. Five DTC buses, were deployed to provide shuttle bus services for lawyers and litigants who parked their vehicles at India Gate and Bhairon Marg parking slot.
Delhi High Court Bar Association, Secretary, DK Sharma said, “We are waiting for technical gadgets to arrive, which could scan the underbody of cars entering the court premises.”
