Days after accusing Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of giving him death threats, Aam Aadmi Party legislator Asim Ahmed Khan said on Wednesday that a political conspiracy was being hatched in the chief minister’s office at a particular point in the village.
Addressing a press conference at his Daryaganj residence, Khan said a group of women created a ruckus at his father’s shop with an “intention to fix his father in wrong cases”.
Asim’s father, Nassem Ahmed Khan, has filed a police complaint.
Terming the allegations as “trash”, AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai told PTI that Khan is left with no other work but to attack the Aam Aadmi Party.
“He was sacked by the Delhi government for corruption. The only job he has left is to team up with the corrupt BJP and attack the AAP,” Bajpai said, rejecting the MLA’s allegations.
The former Delhi food and civil supplies and environment minister was sacked by Kejriwal from his Cabinet last year allegedly for taking a bribe of `6 lakh for allowing construction of a building in his constituency. The CM had transferred the complaint to the CBI.
The Matia Mahal legislator, however, continues to be a part of the AAP.
“We have filed a complaint. We have provided CCTV footage of the scuffle at the shop in Meena Bazar. Since we had got prior information about such an attack we had filed a case on August 1 as well. As planned, the incident happened the next day. We want the police to probe the connections of these women,” Khan said.
According to Khan, he came to know about the alleged conspiracy through an anonymous call from the Delhi Secretariat claiming that the AAP leaders were conspiring against Khan and his family.
“The caller warned me that Kejriwal was conspiring to implicate my family members in a fake molestation case and the same thing happened,” Khan said.
He also demanded scanning of phone records of the three women, who he claimed had criminal record.
He also said he will soon “spill the beans” about AAP.
Khan added that some miscreants allegedly assaulted his personal security officer at his residence on Wednesday and tried to snatch away his pistol.
“Three men in a white car stopped outside my house at around 3am, on Wednesday and began hurling abuses. When my guard approached them, they tried to snatch away his weapon and threatened to kill me,” he said.
Khan alleged that he has been facing threats after he raised the issue of the sacrilege of the Quran in Malerkotla in Punjab. The Punjab Police had on July 24 arrested AAP’s Mehrauli MLA Naresh Yadav in connection with this case.
“This issue is very sensitive to us. We are demanding a probe into the matter by the party. What action is the party taking against its MLAs? At least probe the charges. Instead I and my family are facing threats,” Khan said.
“What I have been indicated is that the top AAP leadership, including Kejriwal ji, is behind the conspiracy to slap a false case against my father,” he alleged, adding, “Target me. Why are you targeting my father? Your fight is with me.”
