Aarushi Talwar’s mother, dentist Nupur Talwar, was put through a narco analysis on Thursday by the Central Bureau of Investigation at Gujarat’s Forensic Sciences Laboratory in Gandhi Nagar.
Both Aarushi (13) and Hemraj Banjade, the Talwar’s domestic help, were found murdered on May 15, 2008, at the Talwars’ Noida residence.
The CBI took permission from a Ghaziabad special court to conduct narco tests on the Talwars. The Talwars were taken to Gandhi Nagar on Monday; Nupur was put through preliminary tests, including psychological and medical tests before the narco test began.
The CBI has prepared an exhaustive questionnaire for the Talwars. Though a narco test takes up to three hours, the tests on Nupur have continued since Monday, while a five-day test is also planned for her husband, dentist Rajesh Talwar, next week, beginning Monday.
CBI sources say, Nupur was asked to recount in detail what happened at her family’s second-floor flat at Jalvayu Vihar, Sector 25, the day murders occurred. Among other things, the CBI is seeking answers from Talwars on whether they allegedly ‘cremated’ Aarushi at Haridwar in haste and played any role in the ‘switching of Aarushi’s vaginal swab/s.’
The Talwars’ lawyer, Satish Tamta, and CBI’s spokesperson Harsh Bhal did not confirm the test on Nupur.
