It was yet another wet day in the capital city with incessant rain lashing Delhi and adjoining areas on Monday. The Met office has forecast light rain on Tuesday too.
Since 8:30 pm on Sunday, the city recorded 60.8 mm of rainfall.
Heavy rainfall on Monday morning led to severe waterlogging in several parts of the city.
Continuous rain also threw traffic out of gear on arterial roads of the Capital.
The rain brought chilly winds too that lowered the maximum temperature.
The day’s maximum temperature was recorded five notches below normal at 22.1 degrees Celsius. But the minimum temperature settled two notches above average at 14.8 degrees Celsius.
Even the day’s humidity wavered between a high and low of 100 and 75%.
Delhi’s adjoining areas, such as Gurgaon and Ghaziabad, also received heavy rainfall for the past 24 hours, the Met office said.
The Met office has forecast more rain and an overcast day ahead on Tuesday. “Light rain or thundershowers may occur in some areas on Tuesday till noon,” it said.
Tuesday’s temperature is likely to hover around 22 and 13 degrees Celsius.
