AI flight to New York grounded at Delhi’s IGI airport after technical snag

An Air India flight to New York with 300 passengers had to be grounded due to on Wednesday due to a technical glitch in the aircraft. According to sources, the pilot got to know about the glitch just when boarding was about to start at 1.45am on Wednesday.
Passengers, who had reached Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), were shifted to different hotels.
“All the passengers have been shifted to hotels and the flight will now take off at 5pm on Wednesday, with a delay of 15 hours,” an Air India official said .
The technical glitch was noticed in AI 101 during the mandatory check before departure. The engineering team is rectifying the issue and the same aircraft will fly to New York.
