Brand Anna hit the Capital again on Sunday. The famous Anna caps were visible again but the chant, 'mai bhi Anna tub hi Anna', was missing.
Anna caps, T-shirts, books and CDs again caught the imagination of supporters and the Tricolour was sold at higher prices.
Many supporters lined up to become members of India Against Corruption and Anna CDs were a hit at the official stall of IAC at Jantar Mantar. Anna's CD on the Lokpal bill was available for Rs 200.
"The literature is selling hot cakes. We have sold around 1,000 copies since morning and we still have a couple of hours to go. T-shirts have become a fashion statement along with Anna caps," said a volunteer of India Against Corruption.
Hawkers left their original wares behind and thronged the venue to sell Anna caps and tricolours. "I sold IAC T-shirts and tricolours at Ramlila Maidan and made good money. My friend informed me about this protest. I sold around 100 flags. Even after working for a week I don't make that money," said Arvind Singh, who had come from Jia Sarai in south Delhi.
Not just the venue, tricolour merchandise was the first choice of buyers at the nearby Palika Bazaar too. Shopkeepers selling readymade wares were cashing in on the frenzy.
An IAC T-shirt was being sold for Rs 200 and a big-size tricolour was available for Rs 100. "We have heard that Anna is again sitting on a fast from December 27. I hope he sits for long. It's a good business opportunity for us. We get these flags and caps from Sadar bazaar," said Satvinder Singh, a hawker from South Extension.
