Annual cultural day at Gyan Bharati
The pre-primary section of Gyan Bharati School, Saket, celebrated its Annual Cultural Day recently. The pre-primary section of Gyan Bharati School, Saket, celebrated its Annual Cultural Day recently. The occasion was graced by Chief Guest Annapoorna Sehgal, Head-Education, Hindustan Times-PACE, RC Shekhar, Director of the school, Amita Govinda, an educationist, and parents.
The programme started after paying obeisance to Saraswati. A dance recital by kindergarten children in praise of the goddess mesmerised the audience. Nursery children presented a laudable performance in “A Bouquet of Indian Culture”, weaving the diversity of India in a common thread of folk dances. The musical ballet Hamara Raja Kaun thrilled the audience. The audience applauded the efforts of students and teachers. The director, Mr Shekhar, said parents should provide children with a stress-free, loving and caring environment for their all-round development. A vote of thanks was presented by vice-principal Neelam Sharma.
Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj (Junior School) celebrated their annual sports extravaganza, Jashn-e-Bachpan, an event that celebrates the spirit of childhood. The event commenced with a welcome song rendered by the choir of Class 2 students followed by the welcome of chief guest Rear Admiral M.M. Chopra, vice-chairman DPS Society. The principal, Bindu Sehgal, addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of such events in nurturing the talents of the children at an early age.
The chief guest appreciated the endeavour of making the children learn the lessons of friendship, togetherness, co-operation and harmony through the theme of “environment”. Students exhibited a rare coordination of music, dance and drill imparting the message of “Unity of Life”. Various races such as ant and sugar, blooming flowers, clean and win and drop by drop were organised.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks by the vice-principal Rachna Gupta. It was followed by the National Anthem.
Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden, celebrated its annual day based thematically on “Liberation through Education” to pay homage to the late founder Shri Shriniwas Sharma. RN Sharma, deputy director, education, Northeast District was the chief guest. The programme started on a musical note with a Sanskrit Shloka sung by a chorus of dedicated students followed by a play Bauji, featured the struggle of two friends seeking salvation through education. The director Arun Sharma rendered thanks to all present and shared his thoughts on the school’s motto “Education With A Vision” and “Liberation Through Education”.
