Army lieutenant colonel found hanging in Dwarka, no suicide note recovered

A 46-year-old army officer was found hanging outside his house in southwest Delhi’s Dwarka on Friday morning.

The police control room received information about the incident after Prakash’s wife saw him hanging from a grill of the railing outside his flat in Salaria apartment, Dwarka Sector 20. No suicide note was recovered from the spot.
According to the police, the army officer’s family said that Prakash was depressed over a probe into allegations of misappropriation of funds against him. His wife is learnt to have told police that for the past few days, Prakash was not sleeping well and stayed awake at night. She told police that at around 7am on Friday, she did not find her husband inside the house and went out to check. It was then that he found him hanging and raised an alarm. Prakash was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. “His wife told us that he used to regularly step out of the house for fresh air in the wee hours. On Friday also he had stepped out at around 3am. “
