A 30-year-old executive was found dead in mysterious circumstances near the railway tracks near an East Delhi locality on Monday evening. Police suspect it to be a case of robbery-cum-murder.
The police said the man, identified as Anjani Thakur, a resident of Pandav Nagar, was found lying near the railway tracks in Chander Vihar in Mandawali area by a pedestrian who alerted the police control room. He was married just 45 days back.
The body was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Thakur, who hails from Darbhanga Bihar, worked as a senior manager with Kotak Mahindra in Laxmi Nagar.
The police said that he went to office on his motorcycle on Monday morning.
"When Anjani did not return home, his family members called him several times. They then approached the Pandav Nagar Police Station where a missing complaint was filed and a message was flashed to all districts of the city about the victim being missing," said senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorized to speak to the media.
The police said that there was a wound on his forehead. They suspect that he was hit with a blunt object. His belongings were found missing.
Police found Thakur's motorcycle at the Mandawali halt parking.
