Several hotel companies have checked into the hospitality district spread across an area of 45 acres coming up near the Delhi airport.
The Bird Group is "coming up with a 216-room hotel in the next 12 months," said Ankur Bhatia, the company’s executive director.
DB Hospitality that has the biggest plot in the district, almost 7.7 acres, had initially planned to build a large convention centre, retail and four hotels.
"But we have shelved our plans now. We plan to exit within the terms and conditions," said Vipul Bansal, CEO, DB Realty.
Bharti Realty has three plots of sizes 2.22, 2.3 and 3.1 acres in the district.
The group is planning an integrated office and retail project at the location.
Pride Hotels has about 1.58 acres in the area. "The hotel will have 385 rooms spread across ground and six floors," said Satyen Jain, CEO of the group.
InterGlobe Hotels’ property is ready but is "waiting for the completion certificates," said Uttam Dave, the company’s CEO.
"We are in talks with leading companies for taking up space in the tower that has about 40,000 sq ft of space," he said.
Blue Coast Hotels & Resorts that has 5.03 acres in the premises refused to comment.
Lemon Tree Hotels’ two hotel properties with 280 rooms and 207 rooms are ready since March but the company said it is awaiting the government clearance for launch of the property.
Hyatt subsidiary and Juniper Hotels Private Limited have management agreements for Andaz Delhi, a 323-room hotel with an additional 118 Andaz-branded apartments on the site. It is slated to open this year.
