"BJP rakes up the temple issue whenever election comes but the country has recognized it now. Our Hindu brothers did not like these things and had hence dethroned BJP earlier," Railway Minister Lalu Prasad told reporters on Monday.

"They have nothing to do with Ram or Krishna. They are actually humiliating the name of Ram for the sake of the chair. They should seek public apology for it," he said.

"The Babri mosque issue has to be decided by the court, Prasad said, wondering, "how can they make such a comment when the issue is already pending before the court?

"This is highly objectionable, he said alleging that they want to set the country on fire," he said.

At the BJP's National Council meeting in Nagpur, party chief Rajnath Singh declared BJP's commitment to build a magnificent temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. Advani later said," We had never left Ram."

Lashing out at the BJP for the statements, the RJD leader quoted a proverb saying BJP's philosophy is Munh me Ram, bagal me chhuri, mauka pa kar katega muri (Ram's name on the tongue hiding a knife in the side, will slit throat on getting the first chance."
