BJP today said it will take on the UPA government on issues like price rise, "escape" of Warren Anderson, delay in Commonwealth Games projects, Railway accidents and Indo-Pak talks in the forthcoming Parliament session.
"A meeting of BJP Parliamentary Party Executive Committee will be held on July 25 to discuss the issues. This will be followed by a meeting of NDA floor leaders on July 26," BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain told reporters.
When asked about the main issues the NDA plans to raise in the monsoon session of Parliament, Hussain said, "Price rise, Congress complicity in escape of Anderson from the country after the Bhopal gas tragedy, Naxal violence, law and order problems in Delhi, Manipur economic blockade of 14 days, and the Indo-Pak relations will be brought up by us."
Other issues the main Opposition plans to discuss in Parliament are increasing frequency of rail accidents and the forthcoming Commonwealth Games where "India is set to loose face due to shoddy preparations".
Hussain said Home Minister P Chidambaram and Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee are speaking in different voices on the Sainthia rail accident. "Chidambaram has said the rescue and relief teams reached the spot after much delay," he said.
Hussain asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to clarify the government's position on the issue.
