The scramble to crack the group discussion and personal interview rounds at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) has begun with a feverish gusto.
With the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) declared on Wednesday, students are now weighing their options to make it to the crème de la crème of the management institutes in the country.
With 2.05 lakh students having appeared for the test, which began on October 22 and concluded on November 18, across 36 cities in the country, there are a lucky few who have got a call from the coveted IIMs.
"I scored 100 percentile with 99.73 in the quantitative section and 99.99 in the verbal ability section. As of now, I have got an interview call from IIM-Ahmedabad and hope to make it to at least one of the IIMs," said Saumyajit Sanyal, who works with Tata Consultancy Services.
For others, with percentiles below the cent percent mark, there is ample hope and they can try their luck with institutes such as the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and SP Jain Institute of Management and Research.
“I took the help of a writer, who dictated the questions to me, during the exam. I computed the answer and marked them. I managed to score 97 percentile in the exam and am hoping to get a call from some of the IIMs and FMS — which is what I have been primarily targeting,” said Shikher Goyal, who scored 97 percentile.
