The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has chargesheeted five members of a prostitution gang who had lured a minor girl from Darjeeling to Delhi by promising a job but allegedly sexually abused her.
The 14-year-old victim was allegedly also forced into prostitution.
The victim was lured by one of the accused, Anand, who brought her from Darjeeling to Delhi in November last year on the pretext of getting her employed as a domestic help. After bringing her to Delhi, the girl was, however, allegedly sexually abused by many men including three touts, who are among the five chargesheeted in the case, at different locations in Delhi, said a CBI source.
The CBI's Anti Human Trafficking Unit swung into action after receiving an alert from a non governmental organisation based in Darjeeling in West Bengal and rescued the girl from the gang's hideout in Munirka during one of its several raids in the city.
During investigation, the CBI learnt about the abduction and sexual exploitation of two more minor girls for which the agency has lodged two separate cases. The accused were chargesheeted under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.
