The vehicle, police said, was seized by Singh when Lakshman couldn't produce the requisite documents. Singh was then directed to submit the seized vehicle at the Lado Sarai traffic pit and he left the spot, police said.

"But near Saket metro station, the constable, who was being chased, was stopped by some men. When he resisted, he was attacked with a hemlet," the officer said. Singh lost control of the vehicle and fell off the bike.
