“The experiment during which all vehicles were allowed on the bus lane was a big success and there were no jams from May 12 to May 17, during which the trial run was conducted. It may kindly be extended,” said NGO president Lt Col B B Sharan.

CRRI had submitted an interim report on May 16, and asked for six more weeks to submit the final report. The interim report said that a majority of car and autorickshaw users were unhappy with the project.

“Majority of motor users feel that the current situation is worse than the one without BRT. Bus users, however, feel that their situation improved after the introduction of the BRT,” stated the report.
