The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will auction 110 flats in the Commonwealth Games Village.
The Authority, which has more than 700 flats in the residential complex in its share, will sell tender documents for the flats between April 26 and May 21. “By auctioning these flats, we will get an idea about their real market prices,” said a senior DDA official who did not wish to be identified.
To be eligible to apply for these flats, a person should not own any residential flat or plot in Delhi in his/her own name or in the names of spouse or children. The DDA has also allowed NRIs and PIOs to participate in the tender programme.
One person can submit only one tender document, which will be available at the sales counter, D Block, Vikas Sadan, INA.
The tenders will be opened at the auction hall of Vikas Sadan at 2.30 pm on May 21.
The authority will sell fully furnished flats. Furniture was brought during the Commonwealth Games 2010. “The furniture in the flats belonging to private developer Emaar MGF, however, are being removed and will be disposed of later,” the official said.
Central and state governments and their subordinate departments and public sector undertakings are also eligible to apply for these flats.
The Commonwealth Games Village, built under public private partnership between DDA and developer Emaar MGF, has 34 towers with 1,168 flats. The residential complex was constructed to house foreign athletes and officials during the 2010 Games.
