Delhi bypass set to get all-clear

The prime minister's office has stepped in to ensure there’s no further delay in implementing the ambitious project to complete a ring road around Delhi — to let 200,000 vehicles bypass the Capital every day.

Hindustan Times had on February 10 highlighted how the 135-km Eastern Peripheral Expressway — one half of the project — has failed to take off due to bureaucratic indecisiveness.
At a meeting on Tuesday chaired by Pulok Chatterjee, principal secretary to the PM, it was decided that the cabinet committee on infrastructure will clear the project next week.
