The first counselling session for admission to Delhi University’s Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) course was held on Friday. Those who had cleared the entrance exam and interview were allotted colleges on the basis of their ranks.
Many students had taken admission in regular DU colleges but were willing to withdraw admission from their respective courses for BMS course.
“I got admission at Kamala Nehru College in economics but I have decided to study here since this is a professional course and studying management at DU would be a dream come true,” said Sakshi Singh, an applicant who secured the 66th rank in the entrance exam.
Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies emerged as one of the popular choices among students for this course.
“For the first counselling, we received a very good response with most students turning up,” said a south Campus official.
And there were some students who were so keen on this course that they had risked not taking admission in any other college.
Rayaan Jaitely was one of the confident candidates who was sure about his decision to study management.
“I had decided long time back that I want to make my career in management. I don’t want to waste my time studying any other course that is the reason I didn’t take admission in any DU college,” said Jaitely. He also got admission on Friday.
BMS is a new four-year honours course introduced by Delhi university this year.
Six colleges under the varsity are offering this course. If required, second counselling will be held on July 21.
