DMRC to repair Gurgaon Metro line on Sunday

In light of the recent spate of disruptions caused by technical snags in the Metro services on line 2 (Jahangirpuri to Huda City Centre), the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to carry out track maintenance on the line on Sunday. This may lead to some inconvenience for commuters. The maintenance exercise will be carried out between 10.30am to 3.30pm on the stretch between Sultanpur and Guru Dronacharya Metro stations — four metro stations in all.
“During this time, passengers going to either side—towards Jahangirpuri or HUDA City Centre—will have to deboard at Sultanpur and Guru Dronacharya Metro stations and board the connecting trains going to Jahangirpuri or HUDA City Centre. Necessary announcements will be made at all stations of this line for passenger information,” said a DMRC spokesperson.
As an alternative arrangement, DMRC will also run feeder bus services between Sultanpur and HUDA City Centre metro stations to maintain smooth movement of passengers in this section during the maintenance exercise, said the spokesperson.Between Jahangirpuri to Sultanpur Metro Stations, train services will be available with a frequency of 3.40-minutes as per the Sunday schedule.
Trains will ply at 24-minute interval between Sultanpur and Guru Dronacharya metro stations and at 10 minutes’ interval between Guru Dronacharya to HUDA City Centre Metro Stations, said the DMRC spokesperson.
At 44.81km, Delhi Metro’s Line 2 is one of the largest and most trouble-prone line. The Metro line is used by more than 5 lakh commuters on a daily basis.
