DPS, RK Puram hosts IPSC Principals’ Conclave

DPS, RK Puram hosted the 73rd IPSC Principals' Conclave from January 4 to January 6 on the theme 'Building Ethical Leadership' attended by 75 member principals, HT reports.

DPS, RK Puram hosted the 73rd IPSC Principals' Conclave from January 4 to January 6 on the theme 'Building Ethical Leadership' attended by 75 member principals. The chief guest Ajit Seth, cabinet secretary and Ashok Chandra, chairman DPS Society presided over the function. Principal of the host school Dr D R Saini welcomed the guests followed by the screening of video montage highlighting the host school's achievements. Suniti Sharma, chairperson of the IPSC, presented the IPSC Report detailing achievements of member schools. The first Bhishma Pitamaha award was conferred on B K Sood by Ajit Seth and Suniti Sharma.

In his address to the gathering, Sood expressed his gratitude for the award, shared personal experiences and anecdotes that had inspired him and spoke of his role in the establishment of the general knowledge test. Sood dedicated his award to Din Dayal, his mentor and former principal of DPS Mathura Road.

The IPSC directory and journal were released as was Sood's book titled 'My Struggles and Achievements'. In his address, Ajit Seth spoke of the importance of inculcating and developing ethics in students and the integral role played by educators in providing the right environment for such development. The three-day deliberations will include issues concerning the betterment of students in the spheres of education, health, nutrition and sports.

Amity International School, Sector - 43, Gurgaon celebrated junior sports day. The event began with the torch lighting ceremony. The guest of honour Sqn. Ldr. S.S. Hakim, olympian & referee FIFA and Dr. Anita Ghosh, associate professor Aditi Mahavidyalaya felicitated the winners and the best athletes of the school. In their address, the guests advised the students to pay equal attention to games and academics. Principal Sandhya Awasthi proposed the vote of thanks.

Joseph and Mary public School, Burari celebrated its annual day. Rome Johri , Supdt. physical education, was the guest of honour, and Rajbeer Singh, joint secretary C.B.S.E. addressed the gathering. Principal Sindhu Praseeth presented the annual report. The celebrations continued with performances like patriotic songs and dances choreographed by the teachers and students. The function concluded with the national anthem.

ITL Public School, Dwarka celebrated its cultural festival recently. Dr Kiran Devendra, head of department, elementary education was the chief guest who lit the inaugural lamp along with school principal Sudha Acharya and vice principal Poonam Arora.

Tabitha Hamilton, the headmistress welcomed the august gathering. Students presented a ballad and a western dance performance making the event grand success.
