Final submission likely after Wednesday now.delhi Updated: Mar 31, 2013 23:26 IST
The highly anticipated report on admission and examination patterns for the new four-year-degree course pattern of Delhi University has been delayed.
The specially constituted committee on admissions and examinations, which was supposed to submit its final report on Sunday, will now submit its report only after Wednesday officials said.
The committee - which has five principals on board - had informed the university last week that the month-end deadline was unrealistic and it might not be able to meet it.
“Since it is the end of the financial year, the colleges are busy wrapping up a lot of things. Hence coming out with the final report by the end of the month was next to impossible. The final meeting of the committee will be held on Wednesday after which the report will be submitted,” said SK Garg, principal Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, a member of the committee.
The university has adopted a new four-year degree programme for the coming academic session, which starts from the first week of June. The actual admission process for colleges, however, starts in May itself with the varsity officials coming out with cut-offs marks that usually takes a lot of time.
“We are already in March and there is little clarity on how we will admit students under the new programme. We were eagerly awaiting the report,” a principal said on condition of anonymity.
