With skeletons tumbling out one after the other in Adarsh Housing Society scam, the situation in Maharashtra political circuit is getting worse.
According to a CNN-IBN report, eight top Maharashtra Congress-NCP leaders including Vilasrao Deshmukh, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Ajit Pawar recommended flats for the society. The TV channel claims to have seen the documents that prove the recommendations.
Former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh recommended three flats during his tenure as Maharashtra CM. It was the same time when the housing society was given environmental and other permission, according to the report.
Another former Chief Minister and present Revenue Minister, Narayan Rane gave initial permission to the society in 1999. He recommended Girish Mehta and Rupali Rao Rane.
Former Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde gave final approval to Adarsh Housing Society in 2004. He recommended Major Khankoje.
Ashok Chavan recommended his mother-in-law, (Bhagwati Manohari Lal Sharma) sister-in-law (Seema Vinod Sharma and brother-in-law (Jagdish Ambika Prasad Sharma).
Forest Minister of Maharashra, Patangrao Kadam had recommended Balasahib Sawant for a flat while, the former Revenue Minister oF Maharshtra Shivaji Rao Nilangekar cleared the allotment of Adarsh Housing Society in 2004. He recommended Sampat Khidse and Arun Dawale, the report said.
Sharad Pawar's nephew and Water Resources Minister, NCP's Ajit Pawar recommended Krishna Bhegde and Shivaji Rao Kadhe. Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Anil Deshmukh recommended Mukund Rao Manikar.
Finally, Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil recommended Chandrashekhar Gaekwad, the news channel report said.
