Hours after a factory worker was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl for over six months, his two accomplices — the owners of the factory — were also apprehended from outer Delhi's Bawana area on Saturday night.
The arrested factory owners have been identified as Vicky (26) and Deepak (24). A factory worker, Tejinder Singh (31), was arrested on Saturday morning. “The girl's parents informed us about the incident, following which a case was registered. Deepak was the first to be arrested, while the other two accused were arrested late last night,” said a senior police officer.
Police said the three had threatened the girl with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.
The victim's parents learnt about the assault after she complained of stomach ache and was taken to a hospital, police said. She was found to be four months' pregnant, police said. The girl then narrated the incident to her parents who informed the police.
The victim is the daughter of a tea stall owner. The stall is located near the factory.
Police said her ordeal started six months ago when she had gone to Singh's factory to deliver tea. The three accused allegedly overpowered her and raped her. They even threatened to eliminate her family if she divulged anything about the incident to anyone, police said.
“Later, the three accused kept calling her to the factory and raped her for six months. A case has been registered, the arrested persons and the victim are currently being counselled by an NGO,” the officer said.
