Crime Branch of Delhi Police have arrested another pilot on Wednesday in connection with fake pilot scam. Police said the arrested pilot, identified as Gaurav Jain, had procured commercial flying license using forged documents.
With this, Delhi Police have so far arrested 13 pilots, three DGCA officials, two middlemen and two forgers while its counterpart in Jaipur have also arrested two pilots since March 7. The arrest came following investigations into a complaint filed by DC Sharma, director (training and licensing) of DGCA's civil aviation department, that Jain, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, had allegedly forged documents to procure a commercial pilot licence.
During interrogation Jain disclosed that after passing his Class 12 he went to Canada in 2008 and joined Sky Quest Aviation Ltd in Vancouver.
"He got Canadian Commer-cial Pilot Licence (CPL) in Nove-mber 2009. After returning to India he appeared in the Pilot Licence Examinations for conversion of his Canadian CPL to Indian CPL but failed," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.
