In the first incident reported from northwest Delhi’s Saraswati Vihar area, 22-year-old Dulare was allegedly beaten to death by a gang of four unidentified men following a heated argument on Thursday night. “Dulare, his older brother, Sitare, 25, and their cousin Sohaib, 18, were walking to their residence in Shakurpur when they were intercepted by the gang. The latter misbehaved with Dulare and his relatives before a heated exchange between the two groups ensued,” police said, adding that he was battered to death with bricks.

Early on Friday morning, the body of an unidentified young man was discovered lying in a park at Y-block in outer Delhi’s Vijay Vihar’s Sector 1.

Sometime later, a 55-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his rented accommodation in southeast Delhi’s Sangam Vihar (D-block). Police said the incident came to light around 11pm and the deceased has been identified as Pappu Kumar, an ice- cream vendor.

“His grandson, Santosh, had gone to meet him when he found him lying dead on the floor of his residence. He was rushed to an adjacent hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Since his house was not ransacked, it seems to be a case of personal enmity,” said an officer.

In a similar incident, a woman was found dead near the Baaz Mall in outer Delhi’s Begumpur area near Rohini’s Sector 24, on Friday morning. The woman, who is understood to be between 25 and 30 years of age, was lying semi-naked. “There were several injury marks on the woman’s body. Prima facie it appears that the woman was murdered before the assailants dumped her body.

Her body has been preserved at the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for identification before post-mortem examination can be conducted,” police said.

Hours later, the body of a man in his early 20s was found alongside the Samtha Sthal in north Delhi’s Kotwali. Around 8.30am, a passerby spotted a man lying near Ring Road. He was rushed to LNJP Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
