Delhi may not have seen traffic chaos on its roads in recent past to the tune it is likely to witness on Sunday, when the Capital is going to host the cycling competitions.
With some important metro stations to remain out of operation and entry to many roads restricted, situation is likely to go out of control.
Metro commuters are not to be affected only on Sunday. However, Metro will not remain the most convenient mode of transport for thousands on Saturday and October 14 when the city will host the 20-km walk and marathon respectively.
"On Saturday, Sunday and October 14, if you have to go somewhere near Patel Chowk or Central Secretariat, take a metro ride till Udyog Bhawan metro station on the HUDA City Centre - Jahangirpuri corridor. Patel Chowk and Central Secretariat metro stations will remain closed for commuters for hours on these days, due to Games' road events, " said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson.
Delhi Police has issued an order to DMRC on Thursday asking it to keep these two important stations closed from 5 am to 10 am on Saturday, 6 am to 6 pm on Sunday and 5 am to 11 am on October 14.
Besides, at Rajiv Chowk metro station only A and B Block entry and exit gates will be open and commuters will have to use gate nos. 1, 2, 7 and 8 on these three days, added DMRC spokesperson.
