With the admission procedure in full swing, the Delhi University Community Radio (DUCR) station, located at the School of Open Learning (SOL), is ready with special programmes to help students.
“We are going to have a special phone-in programme for students to help them understand the admission process and to help them cope with the pressure,” said Vijyalakshmi Sinha, programming head, DUCR.
The community radio station, that is available at a frequency, of 90.4 megahertz, was set up three years ago.
“We have four hours of programming in the morning and four hours of programming in the evening. Most questions these days are related to the expected cut-off marks and careers,” said Sinha.
This year, the highest number of queries have come in from outstation students. “There are a lot of queries from students residing outside Delhi,” said Dinesh Gupta, deputy director, SOL. The station has been carrying out sustained programming for Delhi University aspirants, inviting experts to answer queries posed by students.
“We started the campus special phone-in programme from May 28, the first day of sale of forms and continued till the last date of submissions,” said Gupta.
Apart from live phone-in programmes, entertainment, and music, inspirational stories are also featured.
