The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the Delhi government and traffic police to take effective steps to curb the stunt bikers menace.

A bench of acting chief justice BD Ahmed and justice Vibhu Bakhru said such acts not only endanger the riders’ lives but also can cause harm to pedestrians and other vehicles.

“Delhi government and traffic police shall file a comprehensive affidavit by October 23, stating what they propose to do”, said the bench during the hearing of a PIL seeking a crackdown on the menace.

In the wake of the July 28 incident, Justice Ahmed asked if police could adopt some less violent methods to deal with the menace like use of rubber bullets instead of real bullets which can kill.
