“It is a fact that there are differences between NHAI and DMRC over permission issue. The NHAI has to grant permission to DMRC for using NHAI’s land for geo-technical investigations,” said Amneet P Kumar, administrator, HUDA, Faridabad.

“But we have decided to let DMRC use HUDA land for the purpose,” she said, adding, “I am sure that they have resumed work as we do not want any kind of further delay in the project.”

HUDA had on March 1 convened a meeting of officials from NHAI, DMRC and other connecting departments where the differences came up. The NHAI had already stopped boring on the grounds that the DMRC had to seek permission from NHAI for using its land. According to NHAI officials, the construction company assigned with the task had been boring at a number of places between Badarpur/Sarai Kwaja and YMCA Chowk for geo-technical investigations and the work had to be stopped due to objections raised by them.

The 13.8-km elevated Metro corridor from Badarpur to Faridabad’s YMCA Chowk will have nine stations.
