Detective B Lohia’s pride, his month-old Mitsubishi Pajero, is no longer with him.
Robbers, who drove up in a Honda City, took away the Rs 22 lakh-vehicle after threatening his driver, from right outside Lohia’s house on Monday morning.
Lohia’s loaded .32 mm-calibre pistol, which was in the vehicle, was also lost.
“What worries me more than the snatching of my new Pajero is the loss of my loaded pistol with seven live cartridges. The robbers could hurt innocent people using my pistol. I have informed the deputy commissioner of police (East) Jagdish Nagar. I am also going to take up the issue of deteriorating law and order with (Haryana) Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda,” said Lohia, managing director of ARC Detectives Private Limited.
The carjacking took place at 10.15 am, in G-Block of DLF Phase-I. Lohia was about to leave for office at the time.
“My driver came running inside and said two armed men had sped away with my Pajero,” said Lohia.
His driver Lalit Kumar said the men were aged around 30. They drove up in a grey Honda City with a Himachal registration. He, however, could not take down the car’s number.
Kumar was cleaning the Pajero’s mats and the key was in the ignition lock. One of the men allegedly held a dagger to his neck while the other, armed with a revolver, sped away with the vehicle.
DCP Nagar later said efforts were on to trap the carjackers.
