Love blooms in strangest of hearts and the most dangerous of minds.

A man, who earns a living by driving a van in Delhi and NCR, killed two people within a span of two years just because they were presumably hurdles in the way of his love.

Lokesh, 27, who has been arrested by the Crime Branch sleuths, killed out of his obsession for a Delhi University second year student. Among the victims of this psychotic killer the teacher and the brother of the girl.

Police said Lokesh used his van to dump the body in both the cases. "Crime branch has arrested three persons for kidnapping and murder of a 19-year-old boy who objected to the relationship between the accused and his sister. This is the second murder committed by the obsessed lover in the past two years for the same girl," Sanjay Jain, DCP (crime) said.

In 2010, Lokesh had murdered a boy, who used to teach the girl, for showing interest in her. He was arrested and jailed. "He came out on bail about eight months ago and tried to meet the girl, who is a second year student of Delhi University. The girl's brother, Bittoo, objected to this. On April 4, Lokesh along with his two accomplices kidnapped Bittoo and took him to Noida. At an isolated spot in Sec-65, Noida, they strangled Bittoo to death inside Lokesh's Maruti Van and dumped his body," a senior police officer said.

The other two who have been arrested, are identified as Sandeep, 20, and Dheeraj 22. The accused were arrested from near Cross River Mall in Surajmal Vihar in east Delhi.

In 2010, one Pramod lost his life to the bizarre obsession of Lokesh.

The driver suspected that Pramod was getting "too friendly" with his girl on the pretext of teaching her.

"He had warned Pramod but according to him, he refused to listen to him. He abducted Pramod and took him to Muradnagar in UP where he strangled him," Jain added. During interrogation, Lokesh claimed to be in love with the girl since the past seven years.

Dheeraj works as a musician in a Jagran Mandli in the Farsh Bazaar area in Shahdra.

He has known Lokesh since childhood. Sandeep is unemployed and has known Lokesh and Dheeraj since the past six years.

Police have seized the Maruti van used in crime.
