A 24-YEAR-OLD man was allegedly stabbed inside a moving Blueline bus at Paschim Vihar on Thursday night when he resisted a robbery bid.
According to the police, the victim, Ajay Kumar Kumar, was on the Blueline -- plying on route number 761 between Azadpur and Uttam Nagar from Paschim Vihar - when six men boarded the bus and started robbing the passengers at knifepoint. Kumar said, the robbers instructed him the driver to keep driving.
"He claims when he resisted, they stabbed him on the hand. After looting the passengers, the assailants reportedly got down at Bhairon Enclave. Kumar was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. His condition is now stable," said a senior police officer.
The police are yet to register a case, claiming no such incident happened. They said Kumar and his friends had an argument inside the bus, after which he was stabbed. He then made a PCR call claiming that passengers were robbed.
"No other complainants have come forward. If it were a bus robbery, there would be other victims. In this case, we believe that it was a fight. But further investigations are on," said a senior police officer.
