With the party having announced tickets for around 200 municipal seats, the Aam Aadmi Party has started door to door campaign for the upcoming municipal elections.
Civic polls in the city are scheduled for April, but dates are still to be announced.
Senior AAP leaders said door to door campaign has been the hallmark of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. Several teams have been formed for each municipal seat.
“Each candidate is accompanying one of the many teams formed. Besides a profile of the candidates, each team is carrying a pamphlet with message from Kejriwal reminding voters about the performance of the municipal corporations, which have been ruled by BJP and Congress over the past two decades,” a senior AAP leader said.
According to the 2011 Census, Delhi has 46 lakh houses. AAP leaders said party intends to complete one round by the end of this month.
“Door to door not only introduces the candidate to the voters but also ensures direct delivery of Arvind Kejriwal’s message via the pamphlet.
Since 2013, door to door has been most intensive method of campaigning,” an AAP leader said.
