The Residents' Welfare Association of the Ministry of External Affairs Housing Complex organised a musical programme in memory of legendary vocalist Pandit Bhimsen Joshi on Sunday.

The 89-year-old had passed away on January 24 in Pune (Maharashtra).

A recipient of the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, Joshi was the most-celebrated exponent of the 'Kirana Gharana' of Khan Sahib Abdul Karim Khan.
A number of senior Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) officials took part in the event along with the residents of the housing complex.
The event was organised at the MEA Housing Complex in Dwarka, in association with Sur Pravah an
organisation that promotes classical music.
