Delhiites are likely to experience a hot day ahead with Met officials predicting the day temperature to hover around 45 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
"A heat wave condition continues to prevail over the national capital following hot westerly winds blowing from Rajasthan. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be four to five degrees above normal," an official at the Safdarjung meteorological department office told IANS.
The minimum temperature Tuesday settled at 31.9 degrees Celsius, three notches above average. The temperature at 8:30 am was 34.4 degrees Celsius.
According to Met officials, the sweltering summer is likely to stay for a few more days following the delay in monsoon.
The monsoon has been delayed by 10 days and will now hit the capital July 1.
