Delays in the Delhi Metro troubled those travelling on the Dwarka-Noida/Anand Vihar line again on Thursday, as trains were up to 25 minutes late in morning and afternoon.
"The trains stopped at every station for more than five minutes. I reached Noida from Connaught Place in an hour, a journey that usually takes 30 minutes," said Mayank Bhargava, a media professional, whose office is in Noida sector-16.
The problem was the most severe between 10.30 am and 12 noon.
"The rush on platforms was huge. The trains were not stopping on their usual positions because of the trials for six coach trains; it created a lot of confusion," said Aastha Verma, a student.
Metro operations have been suffering from regular delays and technical glitches for the past two months.
"The Metro used to be a reliable mode of transport earlier but since then, the network has expanded. Now the six coach trains will also pose problems," said Mahesh Yadav, a bank official, who has been travelling by the metro regularly for the past six years.
Meanwhile, Metro officials denied that there were any major delays.
"The trials for introduction of six coach trains are creating some confusion among passengers. That is also why some minor delays are taking place," said a DMRC spokesperson.
