The minimum temperature in the national capital fell by around four degrees to record 5.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
The minimum temperature was three notches below normal for this time of the year and the maximum was recorded at 16.8 degrees. The maximum temperature was six degrees below normal.
The Weatherman has predicted that the temperature might fall further on Sunday. The met office has attributed the fall in temperature to snowfall in the northern parts of the country.
The capital had been experiencing intense cold conditions from January 20 with the minimum and maximum temperatures remaining many notches below normal except for the few days.
A western disturbance over north-west India has led to a rise in the temperature in the past four days, giving respite to the denizens from intense cold. The weatherman predicted clear sky with mist or fog in the morning.
