Parents and officials of a Vasundhara school held a meeting on Sunday to discuss fool-proof security measures for children after the incident of sexual abuse of a student came to light.
A six-year-old girl of the school was sexually assaulted by the driver and conductor of the school bus inside the vehicle.
Hundreds of parents reached the school on Sunday to meet school officials. The principal of the school said the two accused were nabbed and immediately handed over to the police after victim's parents complained to school officials on Tuesday.
"We wanted to lodge a police complaint but officials said that parents should lodge an FIR. We stand by the child and her family and will ensure that the untoward incident is not repeated," principal said.
Senior school officials have also called on a meeting with parents on Monday to invite suggestions to further strengthen safety of the children. "We were shocked at the incident and could not properly communicate with other parents as we have never encountered such an incident earlier. The meeting with parents will help us get their suggestions and dispel their apprehensions," the principal said.
School officials said that an internal-inquiry into the lapses was under way. "We are providing all help in the investigation," the official added.
Some parents have forwarded a police complaint against the school officials and demanded that they should be made co-accused for alleged negligence.
