A promotion campaign team for Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi is going on overdrive as it plans to release a 40-page comic book on his life, as well as T-shirts and downloadable songs by next month.
A website (modifyingindia.com) highlighting Modi's plans and achievements has also been launched by the team led by former BJP youth wing activist Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga, who left BJP over ideological differences.
Meanwhile, video CDs eulogising Modi and projecting him as the most suitable candidate for PM have flooded Bihar over the past few days.
Bihar's animal husbandry minister Giriraj Singh, a vocal Modi supporter, said, "I received 10 copies of this CD from Haryana folk singer Rocky Mittal. Moditva is at the core of the album, which projects him as the most suitable prime ministerial candidate."
In Bagga's campaign, the comic book (priced at Rs. 50) will depict Modi's biography and is being drawn by Aditya Bakshi who has made war comics featuring Indian army war heroes and martyrs like Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Captain Vikram Batra.
Modi t-shirts with his namo mantra 'India First is the definition of secularism' printed on them will cost R195 each while songs about Modi will be released online, between May 20 to 25, for free download.
The CD flooding Bihar is an eight-track album - composed in folk style - and depicts the current political scenario in the country as marred by "corruption, unsafe borders and loosing sense of accountability of the Centre".
Giriraj denied any culpability in its circulation.
JD(U) MP and national spokesman Shivanand Tiwari, who had called the Modi posters "provocative" last week, declined to comment this time.
