The numerous monuments of Delhi are set to become backdrops for more and more cultural activities in coming months.
The Sahitya Kala Parishad, the cultural wing of the Delhi government, will present Andha Yug, a classic tragedy Hindi play at the remains of Kotla Feroz Shah between October 15 and October 19. The pay was last staged in the monument in 1962.
“We are trying to use monuments as much as we can and our efforts will be doubled in the coming months,” said Shekhar Vaishnavi, secretary, Sahitya Kala Parishad.
A play on Bhagat Singh was also staged at the Kotla Feroz Shah remains one year back.
Andha Yug is a 1954 play written by renowned playwright Dharamvir Bharati and is set in the last day of the Mahabharata war. It is considered to be one of the most significant plays of modern India.
